2015 CBGA UPDATE - Ganonoque

Gentleman,

The time has come upon us where we will soon come together and celebrate the sport of golf and reward those who rise to the top and become this year's CBGA Champion.

Todd and I have worked diligently over the spring and summer to secure a fantastic outing for the weekend of September 17-20, 2015 in scenic Ganonoque, Ontario.

The following itinerary and detail are below, and will soon be posted to the CBGA blog, where the traditional voting of captains will begin.

Hope you all are getting out there on the links this summer and gearing up your handicaps.

GOLF:
We have secured 27 holes each day at the following courses:
Smugglers Glen Golf Course - http://www.smugglersglen.com/
Glen Lawrence Golf Club - http://www.glenlawrence.com/

LODGING:
We have reserved 12 people to stay at the Stonepine Retreat located on beautiful Whitefish Lake.

COSTS:
All depends on number of people confirmed, but here are some estimated costs:

Golf -  $157 + tax (Smugglers $89 + tax; Glen $68 +tax), includes GPS cart with leaderboards and lunch at Glen Lawrence.
Lodging - $219 each (assuming 8 people)
Food - tbd as we get closer


ITINERARY:
Thurs Sep 17
3:00 pm   Able to check-in and arrive at the Stonepine Retreat.
3:01 pm   The real golfers start to drink.  Leader sweater is hung on the mantle.

Friday Sep 18
8:30 am   Practice Facilities at Glen Lawrence
9:30 am   First 9 holes at Glen Lawrence
11:30 am  LUNCH 
1:00 pm    Next 18 holes at Glen Lawrence
6:00 pm    Back to Stonepine Retreat for traditional BBQ and tom-foolery.  Kill the leader.

Saturday Sep 19
8:57 am   Leader chugs beer in parking lot
8:59 am   Practice Facilities at Smugglers Glen
9:00 am   First 9 holes at Smugglers Glen
11:45 am  LUNCH 
12:30 pm    Next 18 holes at Smugglers Glen
6:00 pm    Back to Stonepine Retreat to declare winner and listen to bad speeches.

Sunday Sep 20
12:00 pm   Deadline for getting out of Stonepine Retreat.

CBGA 2014 – Bay of Quinte


ITINERARY

Friday September 19:

Black Bear Ridge    http://www.blackbearridge.ca/

9-9:15am:             Meet at course
9:50am:                 9 holes
Noon(ish):             Lunch
1:00pm:                 18 holes
5:30pm:                 Head to house for traditional backyard BBQing, beer drinking, KP practicing, shuffle boarding, poker playing, super sonicing, leader killing, Toddy tickling, midnight snacking, hot tubbing, and best & worst shot reminiscing.

Saturday September 20:

Trillium Wood GC    http://www.trilliumwood.com/

7:30-8am:              Juice/granola bars provided at house. Coffees and substantial breakfasts can be picked up en route to course
8:01am:                 Leader chugs beer
9:00am:                 18 holes
1:30(ish):               Lunch
3:00pm:                 9 holes
5:30pm:                 Head to house for gourmet steak dining, wine sipping, jacket wearing, Champion awarding, beer drinking, poker loss redeeming, double super sonicing, hard core acoustic rocking, trying to stay up past 10 o’clock-ing.

Sunday September 21:


11:00am:               Deadline for house to be cleaned and vacated.
1:00pm:                 Sit on your couches, recover and prepare for 2015!


ADDITIONALS


Black Bear Ridge:           $120 +tax.
Trillium Wood:                 $85 + tax.
House rental:                    <$100 (no tax). Final amount depends on final head count. http://www.vrbo.com/411289
Food:                                 Cost tbd closer to event.

There is parking for 6 cars at the house. Carpool where possible.
Bring your own booze, Gatorade, etc.
If you have a cooler bring it. The fridge will fill up fast.
Bedding is provided but I recommend bringing your own. Your call.
Bring your jackets… all patches should be properly attached.

2013 CBGA Itinerary

Welcome to CBGA 2013.

We are all a little bit like Moe………some a little more than others.



We are just over a week away!

Step 1- Pick our Captains, please go to http://cbgablog.blogspot.ca/ and make sure you have voted for 2 captains. Currently we have 13 votes, we are missing 5.

Step 2- Once the Captains are picked, we want to pick the teams, get some chirpin’ going over the next week.

Step 3- Make sure your handicap is up to date, most of the CBGA uses http://www.oobgolf.com/        

Itinerary

Friday October 4
7:30am     Leave for London- Car pooling is encouraged. Please figure this out yourselves.
9:30am     Traditional Coldshots in the parking lot                                                                                       
10:00am    Tee Off for 9 Hole Ryder Cup team event @ Forest City National GC http://www.fcngolf.com
12:30pm   Lunch at Golf Course
1:30pm     Tee Off for 18 Hole Individual/ Ryder Cup Team Best Ball Match
6:00pm     Check In at Hotel- Station Park Innhttp://www.stationparkinn.ca/- 3 Per Room- 2 double beds and a pull out. $150 per night($50 a man per night). We are right in the heart of the action so cabs won’t be necessary. Parking is $12 per night, so carpooling can save money here.
8:00pm     Head out for dinner and CBGA debauchery @ Barneys
10:00pm   Kill the Leader                                                                                                                                

Saturday October 5
8:00am     Continental Breakfast at the Hotel
8:44am     Meet LEADER in the parking lot for a Coors Light Chug
8:45am     Leave for Redtail Golf Club- 20 minute drive
10:00am   Tee Off for 9 Hole Ryder Cup Team Event @ Redtail Golf Club
12:00pm   Buffet Lunch on the Patio
1:00pm     Tee Off for 18 Hole Individual/ Ryder Cup Head to Head Matches.
6:00pm     Head back to Hotel, Shower, Toss on the Jackets
7:30pm     CBGA Awards Dinner @ The Keg
10:00pm   Take er’ deep in London                                                                                                                

Sunday October 6
Wake up and get out of dodge.

Costs-
Forest City National- 27 holes including cart- $70+HST
Redtail GC- 27 holes including cart & lunch $150+HST (this usually costs $250 a round)
Hotel- 3 guys splitting $150 a night. 2 nights cost $100+HST
$320 covers golf, lunch Saturday and hotel. The rest is up to you guys and how you like to spend your money.
